Dianna Chillo, LCSW-R
Psychotherapist
“Mental Strength is not the ability to stay out of the darkness; it’s the ability to sit present in the darkness knowing that the light will shine again.”
Meet Lisa
Lisa Urrico is a third-year graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at SUNY New Paltz, currently completing her internship under the supervision of Dianna Chillo, LCSW-R. Lisa brings a unique perspective to her work, drawing from 25 years of experience as a classical musician, teaching artist, and arts administrator with renowned organizations such as the Saint Louis Symphony and Carnegie Hall.

Inspired by her personal recovery journey, Lisa felt called to redirect her career to support others, with a particular dedication to helping individuals struggling with substance abuse and eating disorders. Under Dianna’s guidance, she will work with clients facing various challenges, emphasizing treatment planning and collaboration in the treatment of eating disorders.
Lisa takes a Person-Centered, Humanistic approach to therapy, ensuring that every client feels seen and heard. She is committed to being fully present, meeting each client where they are, and supporting them on their journey toward healing and personal growth.

Outside of her counseling work, Lisa enjoys being active outdoors with loved ones—whether hiking, skiing, paddling, or rock climbing in the Gunks. As a proud stepmom to two daughters, she also cherishes time at home with her partner and family.

Lisa is deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow under Dianna’s guidance and is honored to contribute to her practice through this meaningful work.
