Meet Dianna

Dianna Chillo, LCSW-R is a psychotherapist in private practice in New Windsor, NY. She specializes in the treatment of eating disorders including anorexia, bulimia, orthorexia, binge eating disorder, OSFED and body image issues.  She also provides treatment for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem struggles and transitional life issues.

Dianna received her BA in Psychology from the College of Mount St. Vincent and went on to obtain her Masters Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. She is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and has extensive training and experience in the treatment of Eating Disorders, Body Image Issues, Anxiety, and Depression.

Dianna has been practicing psychotherapy for 24 years, and has experience providing assessments, individual, family and group therapy. She has worked in several settings including an outpatient mental health clinic, a hospital emergency psychiatric center, a group private practice, and is currently working in her own full time private practice.

​

In addition to providing treatment, Dianna believes in advocacy, education and prevention of eating disorders.  She has provided in-service training and presentations to educators, students and counselors. Dianna has taken part in multiple community panel discussions, educating people on eating disorders, and has provided supervision to other clinicians. She has been a guest in the media, where discussing eating disorders, recovery and education is a prime topic.

Partnerships & Memberships

  • NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association) and EDC (Eating Disorder Coalition) - Dianna has partnered with NEDA and EDC in Washington, DC and Albany, NY to lobby for changes in legislation regarding eating disorder prevention, awareness and treatment. She has also played an active role during National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, partnering with NEDA, to spread information and awareness through blogs, literature, videos, and social media.  Dianna is also a frequent writer for NEDA’s online blog, writing articles on self-care, fostering healthy body image in children, her advocacy work and her own recovery journey.

  • Project HEAL - Healer's Circle - Dianna is a member of Project HEAL's Healer’s Circle, a national network of eating disorder treatment providers who donate their time and services to Project HEAL grant recipients

  • Girls On the Run - Dianna coached for Girls On the Run, a curriculum based program that inspires young girls to be confident, embrace differences and find strength in connection to others, express feelings through words and actions, self empowerment and self esteem through experience based lessons that also integrates running.
